Arabic

 

Arabic language subject includes; 

  • Kuwait Ministry of Education curriculum.
  • Digital versions of the textbooks are available on the ministry’s website.
  • Various activities prepared by the teachers.
 

 

Islamic Studies & Holy Quran

 

Islamic Studies and Holy Quran subjects include Kuwait Ministry of Education curriculum and interactive activities prepared by the teachers.

 
 

 

Social Studies

 

This subject given in Arabic and follows the curriculum of the Ministry of Education in Kuwait. 

 
 

 

English

 

Al-Awael has adopted the Common Core Standards for English Language Arts.
From grades 6 to 12, ‘My Perspectives’, is being used. This curriculum takes into account the student’s perspective individually and collectively. The curriculum equips our students with skills and next generation experiences, which enhance achievement and develop competencies needed for university.

 

 

STEM Education

 

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) course is designed to provide middle school students with a strong foundation in these four interrelated disciplines. STEM course often integrates the principles and methods of these disciplines to solve real-world problems and develop innovative solutions.
Throughout the course, students will also develop critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

 

 

Math

 

Al-Awael has adopted the Common Core Standards to teach math using Reveal Math textbooks in Middle School. Students have a hard copy of the textbook plus access to the related digital platform. In grade 7 we teach Reveal Math Accelerated to prepare students for Algebra 1 in Grade 8.

 

 

Algebra 1

 

We teach Algebra 1 in Grade 8, using Reveal Algebra 1. This has our students fully prepared for High School Maths.

 

Science

 

Science is taught following the (NGSS). In Middle School we teach integrated science.

 

 

Integrated Science

 

Middle school integrated science is designed to provide students with a foundational understanding of a variety of scientific concepts. Grades 6-8 Science courses cover topics from various scientific disciplines, including:

  • Life Science
  • Physical Science
  • Earth Science

Students will also develop their skills in scientific inquiry, including observation, experimentation, and data analysis. They learn to ask questions, design experiments, and communicate their findings in written and oral formats.

By the end of middle school, students should have a basic understanding of the major scientific concepts across various disciplines, as well as the skills necessary to continue their scientific education in high school and beyond.

 

 

Computer Science

 

Al-Awael Computer Science curriculum is aligned with California K-12 Computer Science standards (CSTA). Connection to the K–12 CS Framework.

Physical Education

 

Al-Awael has adopted SPARK as the basic PE curriculum for all grade levels.
SPARK is dedicated to creating, implementing, and evaluating research-based programs that promote lifelong wellness. SPARK strives to improve the health of children and adolescents by disseminating evidence-based physical activity and nutrition programs. The focus of SPARK is the development of healthy lifestyles, motor skills, movement knowledge, and social & personal skills.

 

 

Art

 

Our art curriculum is thoughtfully designed to inspire creativity, foster artistic skills, and cultivate a love for the arts. Throughout the academic year, students will explore various mediums, techniques, and art movements. Here’s a glimpse of what our curriculum offers:
